Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, kindled the fierce flames for the development of the light industry throughout the country.

He gave field guidance to about 80 units for the development of the light industry after kindling the torch of new great revolutionary surge. This is equivalent to visits to two odd units on the average every month.
