Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- The Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea made public a statement on May 17 to mark the 11th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. The adoption of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration was an event of weighty significance in achieving the co-prosperity by the united efforts of the Korean nation and providing prerequisite for the independent and peaceful reunification, the statement said. After the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration the north and the south of Korea reconnected the severed railways and roads to make a breach in the barrier of division in the spirit of "By the Korean nation itself" and displayed the great unity of the nation through high-level talks and economic cooperation, it added. But the Lee Myung Bak clique of south Korea orchestrated the "Cheonan" warship sinking and Yonphyong Island shelling cases to increase the danger of war, the statement pointed out, saying: Once a war breaks out in Korea it would be the first thermonuclear war in the world and spread throughout not only the Korean Peninsula but also the rest of the world. The only way for peace and reunification of Korea is the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the north-south dialogue, the statement said, adding: The Committee demands that the south Korean authorities accept the proposal for reunification by means of federation and promptly come out to the dialogue with the DPRK. |
