Building of Modern Armed Police Force Called for in China

| Beijing, May 22 (KCNA) -- Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, underscored the need to push forward the building of modern armed police force, while looking round the exhibition of successes made by armed mobile police unit in Beijing on May 17. He said that as an important component of the state armed forces, the armed police unit should firmly adhere to the fundamental principle to arm the soldiers with the socialist theoretical system with Chinese characteristics and provide the absolute leadership of the party to the unit while putting the ideological and political building above all. He also stressed the need to strictly conduct exercises to be fully combat ready and enhance the overall supply ability of the unit and thus make contribution to preserving the stability of the state and the society as a whole. |
