Russia Chides U.S. Moves for Missile Shield

Moscow, 22 (KCNA) -- Andrei Tretyak, director of the General Bureau for Operations of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, at a forum held on Friday accused the U.S. of its moves to build a missile shield in Europe.

He said that the missile shield now being deployed by the U.S. in Europe poses a potential threat to the Russian nuclear deterrence.

Russia has no plan to deploy elements of its missile defence system outside it, he said, adding that there is no such plan at present, too.
