President Kim Il Sung organized the ARF (Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland), the first anti-Japanese national united front body, in May Juche 25 (1936) and created the song to help the people understand its Ten-Point Programme.

The song, easy to sing and cheerful in melody, was popular among not only members of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) but also workers, peasants and other people.

The song simplifies the programme calling on all the Korean people to liberate the country and build a genuine country for the people with concerted efforts. Even illiterates could get a correct understanding of the immediate target and tasks of the Korean revolution through the song.

The famous song contributed to encouraging the KPRA members and all other Korean people with the validity of the revolutionary cause, confidence in victory and revolutionary optimism.
