President Kim Il Sung, who always paid close attention to the farming in the area, visited the Paechon County early in the morning in August Juche 82 (1993).

Making the rounds of rice fields, he was satisfied with a good crop of rice. He called for a comprehensive mechanization of agriculture in the county.

After taking a simple breakfast late, he continued the field guidance tour of Ohyon and Chonthae co-op farms in Yonan County and Chongjong Co-op Farm in Chongdan County.

That day, he said the nation's grain output plan set forth by the Workers' Party of Korea can be fulfilled only when South Hwanghae Province hits its target.

Before leaving the province, he made a promise that he would come again next year.
