Taedongmun Kindergarten
Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang Taedongmun Kindergarten is well known in the DPRK for successful musical education.

Many of its graduates are now active in famous art troupes and educational institutions as writers, musicians and teachers.

Mun Kyong Jin, who won the title at an international violin concours, is also a graduate of the kindergarten.

The principal of the kindergarten, Kim Hyong Ae, told KCNA that 30 years has passed since an early musical education class was formed at the kindergarten.

"In the late 1970's leader Kim Jong Il took the measure to form the early musical education class majoring in violin and kayagum at the kindergarten and sent various kinds of musical instruments, sound equipment and commuter buses to the kindergarten," she said.

"The kindergarten, with scores of violin, kayagum and audition rooms, properly selects children with musical ability and provides them with basic musical education through advanced teaching methods," she noted. "The kindergarten will contribute to the development of musical art by training lots of musical talents."
