S. Koreans' Struggle for Independence Supported in Britain
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- The British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy made public a joint statement on May 19 to mark the 31st anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising.

The uprising in May 1980 in south Korea was a heroic struggle against the U.S. and fascism, which gave great encouragement to the people of developing countries fighting against neocolonialism and dictatorial regime, the statement said.

The blood shed by the uprisers will never be futile, it said, warning that the Lee Myung Bak puppet regime will come to collapse with eruption of the pent-up resentment of the south Korean people.

The statement expressed full support for the south Korean people in the struggle to overthrow the Lee Myung Bak regime, drive the U.S. imperialists out of south Korea and achieve independence, democracy and reunification.
