After its emergence the present regime put pressure on the two former "presidents" to death, something unprecedented in the modern history of politics, the statement said.

It is the present ruling forces that have been engaged in corruption and irregularities while squandering money collected from the people as tax, suppressed the movement for democratization through dictatorship, tyranny and treacherous rule and brought a war crisis with the anachronistic policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen, it said.

To punish this regime is the only way for realizing democracy in this land, ensuring the people's livelihood and achieving the peaceful reunification of the nation, it stressed.

The statement called upon the progressive forces to turn out in the valiant struggle to put an end to the treacherous rule by their concerted efforts.
