Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- The Korean Sports Supporting Fund has invigorated cooperation with local and foreign institutions and overseas Koreans. The fund encourages many people, including women and children, to take part in sports activities and helps train athletes and coaches and improve sports education. Founded in April Juche 95 (2006), it is a certified public institution of the DPRK. As the supreme leading body of the fund, the General Assembly adopts and revises documents concerning the fund's activities and elects the board of directors. The president of the fund, Ri Hye Gyong, told KCNA that the board of directors has a secretariat which includes departments of information, project cooperation, finance and commendation of donators. "I hope that local people, overseas Koreans and foreign organizations and individuals will contribute to the sports development of the DPRK," she said.
