Remains of Allende Unearthed in Chile

Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- Remains of Salvador Allende, who was president of the country and an adherent to socialism, were unearthed from the General Cemetery of Santiago in Chile on Monday to probe the cause of his death.

He died at the time of the bloody military coup staged by the Pinochet clique in 1973.

Present at the unearthing were personages of leftist parities including the Communist Party of Chile and representatives of human rights organizations.

It is reported that the Chilean Court decided in January to make investigation to probe into the cause of Allende's death and settle 726 lawsuits filed against human rights abuses committed during the Pinochet dictatorial regime.
