The former chairman of the U.S. Taiwan Association at a recent seminar asserted that the People's Republic of China cannot deny the fact that the "Republic of China" has existed from 1912.

In this regard the spokesperson said that there is only one China in the world and Taiwan is part of the Chinese territory.

This is the consistent and clear stand of the Chinese government and it is recognized by the international community, the spokesperson said, stressing that China strongly stands against such assertion contrary to the principle of one China and defiant of the objective fact.
