The duty of this force is to protect the interests of Russia in space in view of the military threat of the U.S. and the West to escalate their military actions into near space.

It is reported that the force will have an anti-air system, missile defense system, early warning system, satellites in outer space and "C-500" missile system capable of hitting targets in the near space.
