Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The U.S. developed defoliant for use in the last Korean War, south Korean MBC reported. This fact was exposed in a report worked out by an American expert in defoliant at the request of the U.S. Department of Defense in 2006. He said that in 1952 when the war was at its height the U.S. Department of Defense developed defoliant for the purpose of using it in the real war and equipment for spraying it in the air. Defoliant was used in the Demilitarized Zone of south Korea for the military purposes except the areas of Southeast Asia, and defoliant contained in 7,800 drums was sprayed under the agreement between the U.S. and the south Korean authorities in the late 1960s, he noted. |
