Paektusan Power Station Construction Moves Ahead

| Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- A great progress has been made in the construction of the Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station over the past one year. Power Station No. 1 already started operation and the projects of Power Stations Nos. 2 and 3 are moving ahead rapidly. The builders carried out the construction of a dam, waterway tunnel, intake tower, surge tank and drainage opening of Power Station No. 1. They finished the construction of the power station more than six months earlier than schedule. In the Power Station No. 2 project, they have already completed the expansion of surge tank substructure, construction of ground pressure conduit, excavation of the generator room and some 10,000 cubic meters of earth filling. The Power Station No. 3 project is also progressing apace. At least 20 technological inventions have been applied to the projects. |
