Noting that Kim Jong Il published the work "Giving Priority to Ideological Work Is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism" to clarify the role of the ideological work in building socialism and the matters arising in the work, the statement said:

The ideological work is a powerful weapon for reviving and developing the socialist movement.

Kim Jong Il in his work stressed that socialist system can never be established nor exist and develop without the ideological work.

Collapse of socialism in some countries which had been building it was attributable to their lack of scientific and revolutionary ideology and theory and their degeneration.

In the work Kim Jong Il clarified in a scientific way that giving priority to the ideological work is essential for accomplishing socialism.

Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the C.C., the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, in a statement on May 23 praised Kim Jong Il as an extraordinary thinker-theoretician.
