The group disallowed those concerned of the south side committee to meet with those from the north in a third country. And it refused twice to allow the permanent representative of the south side committee and his party to take part in the meeting of the co-chairmen of the north and the south and overseas side committees.

A spokesman for the north side committee said in a statement on Wednesday:

This is an intolerable challenge to the strong desire of all Koreans for reunification.

To block the June 15 joint event is a total denial of national concord, unity, peace and reunification.

The Lee Myung Bak group's moves to scuttle the June 15 joint national event at any cost are nothing but a sinister intention to chill the desire for reunification daily growing at home and abroad and keep pushing the inter-Korean relations to acute confrontation.

If the puppet group persists in acts against reunification, blocking contacts and visits of NGOs in the north and the south under the signboard of the "May 24 measure" and so on, this will only precipitate its shameful destruction in face of the strong resistance of all Koreans desirous of national reunification.
