Rodong Sinmun on Way for Improving Inter-Korean Relations

Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- To bring the Lee Myung Bak conservative regime to collapse is a prerequisite for achieving peace on the Korean Peninsula, improving the inter-Korean relations and attaining national reunification, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in a by-line article. The Lee group is a cancer-like entity lying in the way of peace and reunification as it is the worst group of traitors in history. The precious achievements in the June 15 era of reunification gained by the Korean nation with such enormous effort were brought to naught all of a sudden due to the frantic policy of confrontation with compatriots pursued by the group. The land of Korea has been thrown into the same alarming situation as what prevailed in the era of the Cold War. There is neither method nor hope for mending the inter-Korean relations. There is only the imminent danger of war. The DPRK has made every sincere effort to improve the inter-Korean relations, prompted by the will to pave the way for peace and reunification despite the evermore undisguised moves of the conservative group to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK and ignite a war. It advised the south Korean authorities, tight-cornered by the total failure in the above-said policy, to reflect even a bit on the crimes committed against the nation and gave them a series of opportunities to repent of their wrongdoings. This being a hard fact, the group responded to the DPRK's good faith with extremely evil intentions. There is no reason to closely follow the behavior of the Lee regime any longer as dependence on outside forces, confrontation with compatriots and fascist dictatorship have become its inveterate habit. It is as clear as noonday that the inter-Korean relations will further deteriorate as the conservative group stays in power longer and a nuclear war disaster will be imposed upon the Korean nation in the long-run. |
