Building of Barriers for Protecting Environment in Border Areas Called for in Russia

Moscow, May 31 (KCNA) -- The minister of Extraordinary Situation of Russia at a recent press conference called for building barriers for protecting environment in the border areas of the country.

The accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant of Japan requires the country to build barriers to protect environment in the border areas, he said.

He stressed the need to set up labs on the banks of the rivers flowing to the territory of Russia through the border areas, in particular, and establish a system for observing atmosphere.
