The method based on epidural anesthesia kills travail, keeps physical conditions on a normal level and ensure an easy, quick and safe delivery.

The Ministry of Public Health and the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital have organized technical courses to introduce the method in other maternity hospitals.

Necessary medicines, obstetrical monitor devices and microinjectors for anesthetic and other supplies have been provided to maternity hospitals in Pyongyang and all provinces.

The Pyongyang Maternity Hospital started to apply the method in last October and provincial maternity hospitals in January this year.

The method is expected to be introduced in city and county hospitals in 2012.
