The institute is a modern base for scientific research where research into high quality fishes of various species and fish breeding and processing are conducted simultaneously.

He went round various places of the institute including the feed processing factory, the newly built fish processing factory, the computer control room, vacuum packing room and protein feed production site to acquaint himself in detail with the construction on a capacity expansion basis, researches and production there.

After making the rounds of the interior and exterior of the institute, he said that it is located in a good place and was built well as required by the new century. He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the soldier-builders gave a radical face-lifting to the institute and extended thanks to them.

Watching each fish pond teeming with fishes including sturgeon, rainbow trout and Ryongjong fish, he praised the party members and other working people of the institute for having opened a bright prospect for rapidly increasing the production and raised the fish production, thereby providing people with high quality fishes.

After seeing modern equipment standing in rows at the fish processing factory and processed fish there, he was pleased that the institute has put all processes ranging from processing to packing on a scientific and modern basis by introducing cutting-edge technology and thus ensured the quality of products on a high level.

He advanced important tasks to be fulfilled by the institute.

He said that in order to rapidly develop the fish farming it is necessary to settle scientific and technical issues arising in the field in a Juche-based way and, at the same time, actively introduce advanced breeding methods.

He underscored the need to properly solve all issues including feed in time as fish farming is an important work for supplying greater quantities of fishes to soldiers and people.

He earnestly called on all fields and units to rapidly increase the production of fishes by dynamically pushing forward the fish farming without let-up and thus increase the production and supply of tasty and nutritious high quality fishes including salmon to the Korean people in the era of the Workers' Party.

He was accompanied by Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK; Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and vice-chairman of the NDC, and other leading officials of the C.C., the WPK.
