The May 27 issue of the Russian newspaper Nakhodkinski Rabochi carried a photo of leader Kim Jong Il signing the joint declaration and specially edited an article saying that he warmly received Kim Dae Jung, former south Korean president on a visit to Pyongyang, at the airport in June 2000 and the joint declaration was adopted and published.

Newspaper L'Avenir of Democratic Congo on May 25 carried an article titled "Immortal Banner for Korea's Reunification."

The idea of "By the Korean nation itself", the main spirit of the joint declaration, serves as an immortal banner of Korea's reunification because this idea fully reflects the transparent spirit of national independence and this also represents the great national unity, the premise and the basic way for reunification and provides a sure guarantee for defending peace.

In order to achieve the reunification of Korea there is no other way but to implement the joint declaration.
