Guo Calls for Discharging Historic Mission of Army

| Beijing, June 1 (KCNA) -- Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Communist Party of China and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the CPC, called for effectively discharging the historic mission of the Chinese army under the new situation. He made the remarks when inspecting the Shenyang battle area recently. He underlined the need to intensify the ideological and political construction, considering it as the main subject to promote the scientific development of the national defense and the army-building and retain a firm grip on carrying out all work, putting main emphasis on combat preparations. |
