Group Lawsuit Filed by A-Bomb Victims in China and Taiwan with Japan

Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- Tokyo Shimbun on May 24 carried an article titled "Group lawsuit filed by A-bomb victims in China and Taiwan". The article said: 13 A-bomb victims and bereaved family members in China and Taiwan filed a lawsuit with the Hiroshima local court on May 23, urging the Japanese government to pay 1.2 million yen to each as consolation money, etc. It is the first time that A-bomb victims of China and Taiwan came out as plaintiffs. The lawsuit was filed by an 85 years old victim in China, 11 victims aged 67-97 living in Taiwan and the bereaved family of one of the dead. According to the defense counsel, 7 persons fell victim to A-bomb in Hiroshima and 6 persons in Nagasaki. The defense counsel said that it is of great significance that the A-bomb victims in China and Taiwan jointly came out as plaintiffs. |
