The song was created by President Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

The famous song is sung by not only the Korean people but also other people, feeling reverence for the President.

An art group of Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Russia led by one of its professors visited Pyongyang in February Juche 96 (2007) and sang the Korean song in a performance celebrating the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

In the April Spring Friendship Art Festival a British art group lined out Nostalgia.

The Jilin Provincial Symphony Orchestra of China, too, performed the same song to be loudly applauded by the audience in the 27th April Spring Friendship Art Festival held this year.
