Students affiliated with the Federation of University Students in the 21st Century of south Korea held a candlelight rally in Seoul in solidarity with citizens of all social standings.

The participants in the rally declared that an early solution to the registration fee issue brooks no further delay.

They denounced the police for mercilessly walking off students involved in the action on May 29 and strongly demanded the authorities fulfill their commitment to halve the registration fee.

At the end of the rally the students staged a demonstration in the area of Myongdong.
