Kim Jong Il clarified the philosophy that a revolutionary party is in essence a party of a leader and this political organization carries into practice idea and guidance of the leader, the statement said, adding that he has developed the WPK into the party of President Kim Il Sung by successfully embodying it.

It further said:

He built the WPK into a powerful political force creditably steering the Songun era, a new era of the Juche revolution.

Today the army and people of the DPRK are working hard to build a thriving socialist nation, achieve the country's reunification and bring earlier the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche in hearty response to the WPK's militant call.

The WPK is strengthening the unity and solidarity with the world progressive people in the idea of independence, peace and friendship and further developing the relations with friendly countries while striving for stability of the Korean Peninsula and global peace.

It will always emerge victorious as the party of the President and the guiding force for the cause of Songun revolution because it has Kim Jong Il at its top post.
