The book was written by a realist scholar, Pak Ji Won, in the 18th century.

In the book Pak introduced what he found out in agricultural researches after consulting some 80 agricultural books.

The book deals with methods of farming, weather forecast, tillage of paddy and dry fields, irrigation, seed selection, sowing, weeding, harvest and cattle breeding, as well as grain strains.

The book is of significance in studying the agricultural techniques and socio-economic conditions in the latter half of the Ri Dynasty (1392-1910).
