Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun on Monday carries an editorial marking the significant 65th founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union. President Kim Il Sung founded the Korean Children's Union on June 6, Juche 35 (1946). It marked a historic event as it provided a new milestone for further developing the Korean children's movement by carrying forward the brilliant tradition of the Anti-Japanese Children's Corps, the editorial says, and goes on: The glorious history and tradition of the Korean children's movement have been successfully carried forward under the leadership of Kim Jong Il. The long journeys of great love and devotion made by him for the everlasting happiness and future of the younger generation, crossing steep mountains, are recorded in the history of the Songun revolution. No children in other parts of the world are as happy as the school youth and children in the DPRK who are regarded as the kings of the country and have their hopes and talents kept in fullest bloom under the care of Kim Jong Il. Excellent, indeed, are the ideological and moral traits of the members of the Children's Union educated and trained under the care of the party and the leader. Immensely rosy is the future of the country as it has a large contingent of future revolutionaries who are growing to be reliable successors to the Songun revolution with deep trust in Kim Jong Il only. The editorial calls on all the members of the Children's Union to fully prepare themselves as reliable successors to the revolutionary cause of Juche, bearing deep in mind the high pride and honor of being members of the union in the era of Songun led by Kim Jong Il. |
