Chinese Paper on Increased US Forces' Deployment in Korea
Beijing, June 5 (KCNA) -- The Chinese paper Shijie Xinwenbao on May 17 carried an article titled "The U.S. readjusting its strategic deployment targeting China".

It said under its sub-title "The U.S. is increasing its forces' deployment and it may use its old method again" that the U.S. and south Korea are planning to stage many military exercises in the regions where situation remains tense.

VOA on May 10 reported that the U.S. military said it would stage joint military exercises with U.S. and south Korean marine corps involved as part of the plan. It was reported that the exercises would be conducted on the island where shelling was exchanged between the DPRK and south Korea last year.

Hong Lei, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on April 21 said that the Chinese side called on all parties concerned to show their flexibilities and do many things helpful to relaxing the situation so as to provide conditions for resuming the six-party talks.

Since the earthquake in Japan and the leakage of nuclear substances the trend of economic fusion in East Asia has become more distinct than ever before.

It is our view that the U.S. should not cause another trouble on the Korean Peninsula at this time.

The issue of the Korean Peninsula today has already become another important checker in disturbing the economic cooperation in East Asia and the U.S. Congress may further deteriorate situation there if necessary.

As the U.S. is pouring a lot of more military and political resources into the peninsula at present, it may cook up any new case if necessary in a bid to get rid of its predicament in this region.

We required to be highly vigilant against "what flowers and fruits" the seeds sown by the U.S. in south Korea through the joint military exercises will "yield."
