Anniversary of Kim Il Sung's Work Observed
Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the People's Palace of Culture Tuesday to mark the 50th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's work "Public Health Workers Should Be Red Champions of the Party."

The work, published on June 7, 1961, clarifies the detailed tasks and ways for improving the health service. Expounded in it are such matters as intensifying the ideological remolding among the health workers so that they can devotedly serve for the promotion of people's health and making them play the role of agitating and educating in the Party's policy.

Present there were Department Director of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Hui Jong, officials concerned and medical workers in Pyongyang.

Prior to the meeting the participants heard the recorded speech "Public Health Workers Should Be Red Champions of the Party" made by the President at the national meeting of activists of public health service.

Choe Chang Sik, minister of Public Health, said in a report at the meeting that the President in the work gave a scientific exposition of theoretical and practical problems arising in fully displaying the advantages of the socialist health system.

The work is important guidelines that should be always held fast to in bringing about a radical turn in the ideological and moral traits of medical workers and developing the Juche-based health service, the reporter said,

Recalling that the President wisely led the drive to develop the health service, the reporter said that his feats for the development of the health service are shining more brilliantly thanks to the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The reporter called on all the health workers of the country to bring about a fresh radical turn in the public health service and thus greatly contribute to improving the people's living standard and building a thriving nation.
