He said that the primary direction for the country's development in the decade to come is to build knowledge-based economy and a high-tech economy with a competitive power and, finally turn economy into a progressive economy and a society-orientated model of development.

What is needed for Russia at present is a qualitative index of economy, not its quantitative index and a stable modern economy, he added.
