S. Korea: "Government" Criticized for Swimming against Int'l Trend
Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- Hangyore, a newspaper of south Korea, on June 4 carried an editorial slashing at the "government's" stand against the U.S. food aid to the DPRK.

Robert King, special envoy for human rights and humanitarian issues of the U.S. Department of State, said at a U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committee hearing on June 2 that the south Korean "government" does not want the U.S. food aid to the DPRK but the U.S. disagrees with it.

Recalling this fact, the paper said:

The European Union, the United Nations and others' movement for food aid has reached a stage where it can no longer be sidestepped.

The EU planned to finish the field survey till the middle of June and three bodies of the UN conducted a joint survey of the situation.

The remarks made by the U.S. special envoy that he is making close coordination with several countries meant reaching an international agreement on the basis of such survey.

How long will the south Korean "government" turn its face away from such trend of the international community?

It would be well advised to make a switchover in its policy, not sticking to its existing stand.

The international community is actively coming out for humanitarian food aid to the DPRK. It is shame on us of the same nation to feign ignorance of it.
