The work, published on June 7, Juche 50 (1961), clarifies the position and role of health service under socialism, the traits to be possessed of by medical workers, the principles and ways to be maintained in the health service, etc.

Ri Pong Hun, vice-minister of Public Health, said at the seminar that the work giving perfect answers to all the problems arising in the practice of public health is an important guideline that should be held fast to in developing the Juche-oriented health service to meet the intrinsic demand of the socialist system. He proved the originality of the idea and theory laid down in the work.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il creditably carrying forward the idea and line of the President made it clear that sincerity of medical workers is a vivid expression of the spirit of devoted service for the people, and has led them with warm care, he noted.

All the health workers should cherish the essence of the President's work and discharge their honorable mission and duty, he stressed.

Presented to the seminar were papers on the effective therapies and experience gained in treating cardiovascular, endocrine and cancerous and other diseases.

Attending it were officials, doctors, teachers and researchers in the field of public health.
