At the service speakers recalled that 24 years ago Ri Han Ryol, ex- student of Yonsei University, was killed by the tear gas fired by the police during the action for social democracy.

Achievements, though small, could be made in the movement for democratization of south Korea in the past thanks to such students as Ri, they noted.

Students are waging a dynamic struggle for a solution to the issue of registration fee, they said, calling for waging a more powerful struggle to put an end to the dictatorial rule of the present authorities.
