The adoption of the historic joint declaration ushered in a new era for opening the door of independent reunification by the Korean nation itself, the chief said, adding:

If the trend of the June 15 era of reunification had continued, the day of reunification would have come nearer.

But, the north-south relations have been deteriorated since the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors came to power.

The Korean nation has no other way but to resolutely defend and implement the joint declaration.

To block this way is just a treachery.

The rosy future of the nation lies in implementing the joint declaration, a reunification program provided by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The advance of the June 15 era can never be stopped no matter how desperately the reactionaries at home and abroad are trying to block.
