The Iranian paper Iran News on June 7 carried an article titled "Idea of 'By our nation itself' and General Secretary Kim Jong Il".

The article noted that he made sure that the joint declaration was adopted in June 2000 the keynote of which is the idea of "By our nation itself".

The historic events on the Korean Peninsula clearly prove that the idea is the immortal banner for Korea's reunification, it said.

The Russian paper Selskaya Zhyzn on June 7 carried an article titled "Under the banner of Korea's reunification", which said: The idea of "By our nation itself", the basic spirit of the June 15 joint declaration, still remains the invariable banner of Korea's reunification because the declaration is run through with the steadfast spirit of national independence and the idea reflects the great national unity, the prerequisite and basic way for reunification.

The north and the south of Korea, which had antagonized and confronted with each other for more than half a century, showed the great national unity, the article said, adding that this is a shining fruition borne out by the idea of "By our nation itself".

The Guinean Agency of Press on June 6 reported that Korea would be surely reunified when the north and the south respect and sincerely apply the said idea confirmed in the October 4 declaration in 2007 in the wake of the June 15 joint declaration in 2000.

Similar reports were aired by internal and international radios and seven national languages radio of Guinea that day.
