Present at the briefing were officials of the South Phyongan Provincial Branch Office of the DPRK Red Cross Society and RC volunteers.

Introduced at the briefing were such admirable deeds as donating blood, skin pieces and bones to those who met with accidents or are in a critical condition.

Some volunteers were given official commendations for their blood donation.

Officials of the center explained what should be observed in blood donation and transfusion and in taking care of donors' health.

The DPRK Red Cross Society, in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, has updated blood transfusion centres in Pyongyang and provinces, sponsored short courses on blood donation and conducted information activities for expanding the number of blood donors.
