From the very day of his start of work at the C.C, WPK Kim Jong Il has seen to it that the WPK always holds fast to the idea of President Kim Il Sung as the steadfast guiding idea and doctrine and built it into an invincible party which achieved steel-like unity and cohesion and took roots among the broad masses of people, the statement noted.

Under the leadership of the WPK the Korean people have defended socialism by themselves in face of the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces and won one victory after another in the revolution and construction, bringing about a turn in building a thriving nation, it stressed.
