The North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in a statement on Wednesday bitterly denounced this action as another blatant challenge to the north-south joint declaration and an unpardonable criminal act of chilling the desire of the compatriots for peace and reunification.

By blocking even the joint national event this year, the Lee Myung Bak group brought to light its sinister intention to persistently rush headlong into confrontation and war, denying the joint declaration, the statement noted, and went on:

National reunification is the greatest desire of the nation and nothing is more urgent than peace on this land.

The south Korean people and all other compatriots' resentment at the puppet group going against peace and reunification has reached its height.

All the Koreans will never pardon the above-said criminal acts of brutally suppressing the movement for reunification in violation of the historic June 15 joint declaration.

The said committee will join the south Koreans and all compatriots overseas in stepping up the nation-wide march for reunification under the uplifted banner of the said declaration no matter what desperate efforts the group of traitors make.
