On this occasion, the Korean people are recollecting the great feats the leader has performed in developing the Juche-based theory of party building.

With a deep insight into the cause of the ruling parties' collapse in socialist countries in the late 1980s-early 1990s, he published a celebrated work "On the Fundamentals in Revolutionary Party Building" in October Juche 81 (1992).

The work points out that the parties' collapse in some socialist countries and their return to capitalism is viewed as an abnormal, transient development in the light of the general trend of human history. It attributes the collapse to the parties that failed to carry on party building and party activities in a proper way.

The work also gives a clear explanation of theoretical and practical matters concerning revolutionary party building, including the continuity of leadership and development of the party on a mass basis.

The guidelines for revolutionary party building provided by the work has encouraged the revolutionary parties and the people over the world to defend and advance the popular masses' cause of independence, the cause of socialism.
