Crewmen of Different Countries Mark Significant Day of DPRK

| Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- Crewmen of different countries met at Chongjin Port of the DPRK Saturday to celebrate the 47th anniversary of general secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. They were captains and crewmen of a Hong Kong ship of China and a Panamanian-flagged ship. Speakers at the meeting referred to the signal contributions made by Kim Jong Il to the strengthening of the WPK and accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Songun over the past 47 years. They said that under his leadership the WPK has played a big role in making enormous achievements in the revolution and construction. His recent visit to China was a historic event that put the traditional relations of friendship between the two countries on a new level, they said, adding that the WPK led by him will always display its dignity as an invincible party. A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting. Prior to the meeting its participants watched Korean film "Pyongyang Today". |
