The meeting expressed full support for the decision of the consultative meeting of leading officials of the International Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of Birth of President Kim Il Sung and discussed the issues to implement it.

It is a great jubilee for world progressive mankind to commemorate together with the Korean people the birth anniversary of the President, a gifted thinker and theoretician, prominent elder statesman, outstanding strategist and master of leadership, said Chairman of the Bulgaria-Korea Friendship Association Simeon Ignatov who is vice-chairman of the national preparatory committee.

To mark the one hundred-year history of Kim Il Sung's Korea, Bulgaria will hold in a planned way colorful political and cultural events praising the undying feats of the President who laid a cornerstone of friendship and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries.

The chairman of the Bulgarian Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification referring to leader Kim Jong Il's recent successful visit to China said Kim Jong Il, dependable successor to the President's cause, is defending peace and security in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia with his original Songun politics.

We will further strengthen the movement for solidarity with the Korean people in their efforts to achieve the cause of independence and socialist construction against imperialism under the leadership of Kim Jong Il with 2012, the centenary of birth of the President, as a momentum, he added.

A decision was adopted at the meeting.
