He issued a statement on June 17 on the 47th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of work at the WPK Central Committee.

Kim Jong Il, always finding himself among the people, shaped lines and policies by reflecting their will and requirements and cemented the single-minded unity of the whole society around the President, the statement noted, adding:

A bright vista is opening for the progressive people working for socialism against imperialism thanks to his outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and undying feats.

Kim Jong Il is giving field guidance for the people without taking a single day off.

Under his leadership the Korean People's Army has become the most reliable force in building a thriving nation and the DPRK is demonstrating its might as an invincible socialist fortress to the world.
