In his speech at a meeting held in Havana on June 16 to mark its 35th anniversary, he said President Kim Il Sung is the lodestar of reunification who devoted everything to the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea till the last moments of his life.

The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration provided by general secretary Kim Jong Il is a landmark of Korea's reunification, the speaker noted.

The Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification has conducted positive solidarity activities to boost the bilateral friendly relations and support the Korean people in their efforts to reunify the country over the past 35 years since its foundation, he added.

Attending the meeting were officials of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification.

The DPRK ambassador to Cuba and his embassy officials also attended.

The participants heard a congratulatory message addressed to the Institute and the Committee by the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Korea-Cuba Solidarity Committee.
