Foreign Diplomats Tour Localities of DPRK

Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) -- Diplomatic envoys of different countries and representatives of international organizations here visited areas of Pakchon and Thaechon in North Phyongan Province of the DPRK Wednesday. At the Pakchon Silk Mill they toured the monuments to the on-field instructions of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the room devoted to history of the mill and blanket workshop and other places of the mill, being briefed on the fact that this modern mill has contributed to improving the standard of people's living. They were moved to see its employees working unprecedented miracles and innovation in production. They also visited the Unhung Co-op Farm in Thaechon County. They had a bird's-eye view of Handre Plain and the farm, turned into socialist fairyland, after being briefed on the farm in front of the monument to the revolutionary activities. Then they called at homes of Om Jong Sil, who volunteered to the countryside, and a discharged soldier and had conversations with them before touring the cultural hall of the farm. They also had a bird's-eye view of the North Phyongan Provincial Pig Farm which turns out a large quantity of meat conducive to people's diet. After the visits they made entries in visitor's books. |
