He looked round the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, the Pyongyang Textile Machine Factory, the Pyongyang Footwear Factory, the construction site of a cement factory in Chonnae County, Kangwon Province and the construction sites of greenhouses of Pyongyang Vegetable Science Institute and Pyongyang Floriculture Institute to learn about the technical updating, production and construction. He convened consultative meetings of officials concerned.

The meetings discussed the issue of successfully carrying out the tasks set forth by the Workers' Party of Korea.

They also took measures to steadily increase the production of heavy rails, promote the modernization of equipment based on up-to-date technology, ensure earlier operation of the cement factory and build greenhouses in a profitable way.
