Not only the Koreans but the international community hailed the joint declaration published by the north and the south of Korea for its reunification on June 15, 11 years ago, the bulletin said.

The idea of "By our nation itself" is the basic spirit of the joint declaration, it noted.

The joint declaration serves as a great programme for Korea's reunification as it indicates the way of turning the north-south relations of confrontation into those of reconciliation and cooperation and achieving the common prosperity of the nation.

The adoption of the joint declaration opened the new era of independent reunification of Korea, demonstrating its vitality.

But the anti-reunification forces of south Korea challenged the joint declaration.

The present south Korean regime refused dialogue and cooperation between the north and the south and turned the Korean Peninsula into the world's most dangerous hotspot in collusion with the U.S.

The history clearly proves the implementation of the joint declaration is the only way of averting a war and achieving peace and reunification of the peninsula.
