The commander of the U.S. 8th Army has so far asserted the U.S. troops in the military base in Waegwan drink underground water inside the base to prove that the water is not contaminated, it said.

An expert organ, however, recently revealed the U.S. forces in the base pumped up water from the River Rakdong and filtered it before using it as drinking water, the report noted.

It urged the U.S. forces to explain the reason why they stopped using the underground water in their base.
