Touring the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, Ranam Coal Mining Machine Complex, Chongjin Steel Works, Puryong Alloy Steel Complex, Kyongsong Insulator Factory and the Komusan Cement Factory and Tanchon Port under construction, he acquainted himself in detail with production, technological updating and construction progress there.

The premier called consultative meetings at relevant units. The meetings focused on the matters to increase Juche iron and alloy steel production, improve the quality of steel and insulators, consolidate independence in production of ordered equipment and cement and build Tanchon Port on a modern line.

Technical measures were taken there to supply in time raw and other materials and equipment needed for industrial establishments in the provinces entrusted with an important duty in carrying out General Secretary Kim Jong Il's plan for building a thriving nation.
